The Natasha ... ah that brings back memories ...

The magnet holders in the Natasha are small pieces:

as are the ones used in the current trains:

Now with the trains the magnets were always part of the buffer assembly, so
coming up with a non-swallowable integrated buffer-and-magnet would appear a
viable solution for trains. However, that integrated buffer is a very
train-specific solution. I can't see that part being usable elsewhere.

So are they saying they will be coming up with an integrated
large-part-with-magnet part for use in non-train sets in the future or
simply that they will stop using magnets in non-train sets.

Maybe if we could see their plans to redesign the fridge magnets (I only
have the flat magnet kind of fridge magnets so I am not quite sure which
items they are talking about here), all would become clearer.

Kerry,

I remember you telling me the magnets were not that succesful in holding the
Natasha together, so I would probably think that in future a different method
would be used if a magnet was considered in any new creation. As has been
demonstrated by the countless MOC's people have made over the years, there is
more than 1 way to put 2 lego bricks together!
