Ritchie Mr Ambasador do you know any thing about the above mentioned project taking place in all or capital cities sometime in August???

I got a piece of junk mail about it and have not seen anything on here mentioned.

Pete,

Here is the blurb I received from EWB on commencement of the project:

It appears the dates may be different in each state - you can find some more
information in their calendar here.

Hope this helps,

Rosco I got the same crap in an Email as well and have asked a few questions of Mr Ackland about why is Lego being the medium for this project and why wern’t the local Adult Lego Groups used to build it instead of some engineers.

It was an EWB project from the start - they devised it as a fund-raiser for their renewable energy programs. They sought help on the LEGO design from LEGO Australia, who contacted me, being an ambassador and having recently worked with me on the Harbour Bridge project.

As this is happening in our back yard (Lego and Australian Capitals). The Australian Ambasador seems to know nothing about it.

This one does :)

They want us to give some gold coins so we can throw in some bricks when the decent thing for EWB to do would have asked the local LUGS to do the building.

See above - the donations are to help fund other projects.

I see your name mentioned as “Master Designer and Builder” just curious when did this title get bestowed??

I have been called many things at many times, many of which I am not even aware of. I have designed and built several large LEGO projects now, I guess they decided the title fitted. It is not an official title, and I don’t intend to use it myself.

All still sounds very rude for an organisation to come into our back yard (I do not for one minute say we have exclusive rights to Lego in our area’s) and decide to build this project but not ask the yard people if they would like to build the project for them.

Again, the whole purpose of the project is to raise funds. They were already “in our back yard”, I don’t see any problem. I believe more has to be done with renewable energy in Australia, so happily contributed my time and expertise for nothing. I hadn’t announced it yet because I was hoping to be able to announce full details (when/where etc) and they have not all been finalised yet.
