Hi All
Well Brisbane Lego Train Group held our first gathering of the new year last
week end and what a marvelous gathering.
We normally hold them at someones place depending on who puts their hand up well
Ken outdone himself this time. He offered us the use of his holiday house at
Diggers Camp for those without a map it is about 460 K south of Brisbane between
Evans Head and Coffs Harbour. SPECTACULR view right on the edge of the Pacific
Ocean. No crowds, no power (gen set at night), no husstle and busstle. Just a
lazy weekend of swimming, drinking and talking lego plus making up a few kits
there as well.

Ken thanks for the break away from main stream society.

I have to add here we did hold a competition on building speed while we were
there. the kit was 7344 (only because it was at home and Ben had built it so I
broke it back down to take)
Now the rules were pretty simple and clear all the parts were in the box with
the instructions. The contestant sat on the floor with the box in front of him
we had a time keeper and 3 adjudicators. On go he tipped the box out and started
assembly from the instructions on completion he had to put both hands in the
air. The model was then inspaected by the panel and any wrong part position or
"spares" attracted a 10 sec adition to the official time.
Something different and it was a lot of fun I forgot also any bad language from
the contestant also attracted a 10 sec fine (very common)

Here are the 6 people results and I won't put any names to them just the winner.

12 Min 16 sec
15 min 58 sec
17 min 17 sec
19 min 16 sec
19 min 28 sec
19 min 56 sec

The winner was Aaron

Well that is about all I have to report if any of the others feel like adding to
it be my guest.
Again thanks Ken for a great time.

Cheers
Peter Parsons
