I would like to announce that the BLTG (Brisbane Lego Train Group) are just
about to take part in their 5th Train Show in just over 2 weeks time. The annual
Train and Hobby show is being held at the RNA showgrounds on the May Long
weekend (1st, 2nd and 3rd of May) and the BLTG will have a new layout on
display. This year it measures about 5m by 6m and will include the following;

-A monorail
-3 running tracks with mindstorms remote control
-A working traverse with parking for 9 locomotives, all independently controlled
-A working grain elevator that loads hopper wagons with imitation grain. The
elevator and train are controlled with a mindstorms brick, needs to be seen to
be believed.
-A working fun park with 3 moving rides, a Ferris wheel, the sizzler, and a sky
chair.
-A river scene with large riverboats
-A 1-metre long dual track girder bridge
-A 1-metre long box girder bridge
-A Dual rail and monorail station
-A city scene
-A farm scene
-A freight container park with loading track cranes, etc
-Etc, etc. etc…
-Plus various building and scenes, some from members of BrisLUG (Who are meeting
this Sunday so they can include their contributions)

So if you happen to be in Brisbane on the May long weekend make sure you drop in
and see the result of our long hours burning the midnight oil. Speaking of long
hours of labour I would like to take this opportunity to thank Ken, Peter and
Aaron for their tireless efforts every weekend over the last 8 weeks in putting
this year’s display together. Not only have they put together the best display
yet, they even managed to fit in a small train show in the middle and set up
displays at local libraries. Well done fellas, if I was giving out prizes you
would be on top of my list.

Don’t Just Imagine, come and see it for real.

All the best
Gary
