Yesterday, Australia Day, Sydney had it's 18th (bi-monthly) meeting.
James hosted the event, showing off some micro-mecha.
Richard brought along the Chifley, and more troops than could be poked with
a long stick. As well as some new sets, Adventurers and Star Wars mini sets.
Richie brought along more troops, including some good work with the printer
converting redcoats/bluecoats into green, black and greycoats.
Pete brought the makings of a truly fearsome space battle barge and the
ubiquitous Brittany Spears.
John and Anthony had trains and Pete supplied some track for a layout on the
floor. John's steam engine and Anthony's station were particularly nice.
Finally Kev didn't bring any LEGO along but given he's off overseas, it was
nice to see him one last time (I'm sure he'll be back, just like Pete C said
he would). Big Hi to Andrea who prefered the beach to LEGO...
Much planning (well talking anyway)was done for upcoming events...
27 or 28th of Feb: Trainthing 1. Pete's organising a venue to let the trains
run free. Bring track, rolling stock, scenery or just yourself!
1st Weekend in April: STUDFest XIX. Richie is hosting this time, up in
Hornsby somewhere. Bring your latest creations and stuff. Maybe even Brikwars!
And the Big One
Queens Birthday Long Weekend (8,9 and 10th June): 3rd Annual Australian
National Brickmeet. James is conveneing the third national meeting, this
year to be held in Sydney. Interstate visitors (and International too) are
very welcome. It'll probably be in the northerner parts of Sydney if
planning accomodation. Building competion, Brikwars, trading and heaps more!
Put it in your diaries now!
James (who isn't really sure what a convener does anyway)

| (...) Thanks once again for providing a venue, James. (...) And, importantly, no one pointed out that the crew couldn't be standing on the conning tower in space ;-). (...) And the dread mime chorus. (...) That's Brickmeet (tm). ;-) (...) Cheers (...) (22 years ago, 27-Jan-03, to lugnet.loc.au)
