Not necessarily lying. IIRC, Tandy is now just a business name of one of
Dick Smith Electronics companies (ultimately owned by Woolworths).
Both outlets of one company could probably share an 'exclusive' without it
being technically lying (nor false and misleading in contravention of S52 of
the Trade Practices Act).
I can't figure out why Woolies keeps both Tandy and DSE going (and usually
within a short walk of each other), but then I can't figure out why
Coles/Myer keeps both K-Mart and Target either.
