Is there any rule of thumb for pricing a collection of assorted Lego pieces? Either by weight or piece count? I've had someone hint to me that they would be open to an offer to sell off an old Lego collection and I'd like to know what's a fair price (...) (25 years ago, 21-Sep-00, to lugnet.loc.au)

(...) When I look at a bunch of older pieces, I can see subtle differences. The older pieces don't hold together as strongly, although I'm not sure if that's an effect of age or just better design and tighter manufacturing tolerances of the newer (...) (25 years ago, 20-Sep-00, to lugnet.loc.au)
