Quick note: I thought this was important enough to warrant its own
thread.

I have had similar problems with a fair number of my newer pieces as
well: they are too far apart, too loose, etc. I've also had a much
larger than normal amount of new pieces that were chipped or slightly
deformed in some way. Also, a lot more of the printed parts (minifig
faces, tiles, etc.) are flawed.
Now, I expect some damage or mistakes to occur once in a while, but it's
been getting more regular lately. What could possibly be the reason for
lowering the quality of LEGO bricks? They need to get their QA back up
to par, I think.
