I know everyone at LEGO is very busy, so I do not want any details, but I
would like some response. Is LEGO looking into improving speed of the
shop.lego.com pages?
The bulk page is essentially unusable. It takes 3 to 4 minutes for the page to
load. Even worse is that while the page is loading my computer refuses to let me
do anything else. I find it hard to believe that anyone would be willing to sit
around for a page to load. In the end, bulk sales will be limited to those
people who get the catalog in the mail.
It may depend on your internet connection.  If you have AOL MSN or any other
dial up networks yeah it will take a long time.  To make it slower go to the
low-band site which is definetly faster without the flashy stuff.  Or if you
have any internet tracking programs it may take longer.  But if you have
T-1, T-2, and All mighty T-3 then it is probably due to the number of people
at the site.  Lego does receive a bunch of kids each day.  But try the
lowband site.

Whether I am on a T3 connection or a 56.6 modem the performance of the LEGO
pages is essentially the same. I do not think it is an over crowding issue on
the LEGO site because most of their pages that load slowly are OK, but the bulk
page is unbearable. I am guessing that is has something to do with all the menus
(the shopping cart and wish list buttons?) that have to load.
