LEGO Direct (and Jake in particular) has earned a lot of credit in our AFOL community. To me this is the only explanation why first reactions to this announcement weren't severely critical. LEGO, both Billund and Direct, have been doing quite (...) (23 years ago, 3-Apr-02, to lugnet.lego.direct)

One was a Statue of Liberty set (I paid almost twice retail, but it was for a good cause). One was a white-jacketed display minifig (there were 6 auctioned in all, 3 different kinds). I can't believe I account for nearly 1/4 of the auctions to date (...) (23 years ago, 3-Apr-02, to lugnet.lego.direct)

It wasn't THAT unreadable. I saved the original jpgs and tweaked the contrast, and it was easy enough to build the Street Sensation.
