I believe that LEGO Direct wants to "own" the accounts wherever they choose to sell the shirts through (i.e., they keep the password to the account and they receive all the cheques at their own mailing address). A email address at lugnet.com for design submissions would kinda be a bottleneck, plus I won't really be getting involved in this except to set up an order page (...)
