I did an inventory of loose pieces that I bought. Peeron really helped me
identify possible sets using the minifig pieces. I could then identify more
parts using their set inventories.
1. Can "(Complete)" parts use more than one color?
When people submit set inventories, they define the colors in the note using
many different words. For example, I found that 'Minifig Hips and Legs
(Complete)' (970c00) had these notes referring to the Hip piece:
w/ Red Top
with red hips
with Red Belt
w/ Red Belt, One leg Blue, w/ Red Belt
(I think this is for two separate Hips and Legs)
Would it be possible to have 'Minifig Hips and Legs (Complete) with Red Hips'
and similar for the standard colors? This makes these more like what you have
for "Pattern" parts. The "One leg Blue" could still go in the Set-Part Note.
Another candidate is 'Minifig Torso' (973). But it has two colors - one for arms
and one for hands. So they might be like 'Minifig Torso with Yellow Arms and
Black hands' (973). This would be be more part entries because of the
combination of threee colors.
A different approach is to list the parts that make up a (Complete) part:
'Minifig Torso (Complete)' (973)
Primary Piece: Minifig Torso Color: Red
Piece: Minifig Arm Right Color: Yellow
Piece: Minifig Arm Left Color: Yellow
Piece: Minifig Hand Color: Yellow
Piece: Minifig Hand Color: Yellow
But, I know that is a big structure change.
2. Is there a way to display or search all of the Notes displayed for Parts in a
Set?
I have what appears to be this piece from set #6575-1: Polar Base:
1 973 Red Minifig Torso (Pic) w/ Arctic Logo and Polar Bear Logo, w/ Black Hands
I had checked the Pattern pictures and did not find it. I used Search and did
not find it. I pulled up part 973 and did not find "Polar" in the listed Notes.
But, I got lucky that it showed a piece from Set 6575-1: Polar Base. When I
looked in it, it had two 973/Red entries with different Notes.
So that is why I wonder: Can Search also check all Set-Part Notes?
Or, Can the "Sets that have <part> (#):" web page list Set-Part lines with
different Notes on separate lines?
