Yup, I'm aware of the MLCAD custom colours, but there is a good reason for me
not wanting to use these unilaterally: with tools such as LPub generating parts
list images and inventories, I thought it might make sense to have a commonly
accepted colour that is "converted" to black for the purpose of those parts
inventories.
I think there is a good case here for 'AxleBlack' being a standard LDraw.org
color - Lego axles are made from a different material than Lego bricks. IMHO
this is a very similar issue to having a standard colour for rubber components
such as pneumatic hose.
