Re: Outlined part edges in L3P?

I realized that this suggestion might work fine for rectangular parts, but cylindrical parts won't have edge lines along the cylinder walls, right? Kevin (...) (22 years ago, 23-Dec-02, to lugnet.cad.ray, lugnet.inst)

Perhaps L3P could collect all the edge lines during part generation, but defer the output until the complete model has been generated, and then write (...)   Re: Outlined part edges in L3P?

(...) First, I don't think that it is related to the "smooth triangle" algorithm, because this is independent of the scale of the triangles, it only deals with their surface normals. The basic problem is, that there is no such thing as a line in (...) (22 years ago, 23-Dec-02, to lugnet.cad.ray, lugnet.inst)

  Re: LPub 2.1.0.3 released

(...) Yes, I plan adding -co for orthographic camera with automatic camera positioning. But the orthographic camera has changed in PovRay 3.5, and it is playing games with me. Perhaps I'll use the command "version 3.0" to overcome my trouble... (...) (22 years ago, 23-Dec-02, to lugnet.cad, lugnet.inst)

Re: Outlined part edges in L3P?

Excellent suggestion!! I've been wrestling with MegaPOV lately, having frustration with different size submodels and the find_edges settings. I want to keep the line thickness relative to the _parts_ and not to the render resolution, but since the (...) (22 years ago, 22-Dec-02, to lugnet.cad.ray, lugnet.inst)

  Re: LPub 2.1.0.3 released

I just got another email discussing the use of orthographic camera and building instructions. The two do not work well together, and won't for the forseeable future. LPub leaves it to L3P to determine the camera settings. For a given LDraw file, (...) (22 years ago, 22-Dec-02, to lugnet.cad, lugnet.inst)

(...) YUPY! This at least helps me out in not "killing" myself in trying to get more of my BIs out the door sooner. I really need to clear my inbox of BIs in progress but got too much "other LEGO" work bogging me down right now. -AHui (22 years ago, 19-Dec-02, to lugnet.inst, lugnet.general)

Dear Jake, I was wondering do we get credit for previous reviews or instructions which were added before the contest? If we do not that is ok. Ben (22 years ago, 18-Dec-02, to lugnet.inst, lugnet.general)
