The newest theme to grace the Lego line is Harry Potter legos.  They are

Obviously, these sets will sell.  People, especially kids, all over the
world adore Harry Potter and will flock in droves to see the movie and then
find themselves buying Harry action figures and lego sets.

Personally, though, I wish the world of Harry Potter could be left alone.
What makes Harry so amazing is that people are getting this excited over a
BOOK.

I agree with you, up to a point.

I think it's marvelous that the kid world is going gaga over
an honest-to-god book.

I don't think that LEGO sets will harm that, really.  They'll just
get little kids who are too young to read interested in the series.

What I think will hurt is the Harry Potter movie.  It may be a great
movie, but then, all of a sudden, you won't have to read the books
to be a part of the Harry Potter universe.  Sad.
