Putting these sets back out in packing that is specifically marked as
'Reissue' should virtually eliminate any problems of value. Change the
colors of the old sets? Sure why not, nothing is set in stone. Some
changes might even be considered improvements.
As for affecting values of the existing sets... well, the only people
making money on these are folks selling them on Ebay! LEGO has nothing to
loose, everything to gain by doing this. I would just as soon pay the
exact same amount of money (or less) for a reissue set in a store, than
haggle about it on Ebay.
