His feet are 2x3, legs are 2x2.  What is the body made of?  It looks like it
should be 2x5, but according to

http://home.t-online.de/home/tomslego/before1968.htm

there is no 2x5.  His head is 2x3, but what is the hat made of? 3x3?  Can
anyone point me to a clearer (and/or brighter) scan of "LEGO Man"?

Charles

From the page I see the body as 1st layer above the legs: 2x4 & 1X2, next two layers are 2X3 & 2X2. Hat is a 1X3 & 2X3. Lego is not a toy, it's a way of life.
