TLG's customers are 1 of 3 main types:
1.Kids buying for themselves. They usually don't have much money to spend so they usually want
something small but not something they already have.
2.Parents buying for their kids. They usually are purchasing for e.g. birthdays and christmas etc so
they will probobly get the kids a nice big set to keep them happy. They usually want a set that the
kids are accually going to like as a set and not just as more lego for the collection. If all they
do with it is toss it straight into the drawer then what is the point. (i am not a parent so i may
be wrong on this)
3.AFOL's buying lego for themselves. They usually are not purchasing a set so that they can make it
and have it sitting on the shelf. They are thinking of how usefull the set is with the parts they
have. They are sometimes after particular parts to complete models and will go to extreme lengths to
get them. They want sets that have usefull parts, even if the model itself stinks.

Agreed. You sum up the descriptions of the three LEGO markets quite well. <ICS> (25 years ago, 5-Oct-99, to lugnet.general)
