It's a sad day when you realize the latest Lego technic car is worth more than
the car you drive (or don't drive as the case may be). My car's brakes started
making terrible grinding noises a little while ago. I took it into a garage
and they said the brakes are totally shot and estimated a $500 repair bill.
Now my car has *ahem* unique features such as two front doors that won't open
from the outside, front windows that won't roll down at all, terminally leaky
tires and an engine from another car of a different make - so I decided not to
have the brakes repaired. Thinking someone might be handy in fixing the brakes
for less, I advertised the car in the local paper for $100 or best offer
(explaining the car's problems). I have had no offers and it's been two weeks
:( I guess it's time to make "free to a good home" posters :) I hope I don't
have to end up paying someone to get rid of it :) So, is it a sad day when you
realize a Lego car is worth more than your own? Maybe I should have posted
this to lugnet.marekt.buy-sell-trade...hmmm WTT: 1988 Pontiac LeMans for 8448
Super Street Sensation...has lots of unique pieces, 12V system, snaps apart
easily :)

| (...) Hey... I'm in the same spot with not one but TWO automobiles. Before you even think about paying someone to haul it off, investigate charities in your local area. Usually, it seems, you can find one that will come out and haul it off, and give (...) (25 years ago, 7-Sep-99, to lugnet.off-topic.fun)
