Actually, I'd like to know whether the projected pricing will by any means match
the effort. If so, trying to find original sticker sheets may become very
attractive price-wise (since there are usually more than just one type of
sticker on the original sheets). The market will eventually run out of original
sheets, though.
I fail to see the big issue anyone should have with repoduced sticker sheets,
but lawyers have been known to be inventive. On the other hand, designing a
full-fledged multi-flavor sticker sheet on transparent self-adhesive foil with
"some cutting required" would sound like something anyone with moderate
graphical skills could do - without plagiarizing original LEGO artwork in any
way. You can't make collectible items using "reverse engineered" stickers
anyway.
Purists will always require original bricks and original stickers. Everyone else
will probably happily go with any kind of decoration that looks good and comes
at an affordable price.
Although that's probably just my $.02
