Reading this got me thinking a bit. Does anyone carry a special insurance
rider on their LEGO collection. While my collection pales in comparison to
many, it is valuable to me and some of the sets I have (Airport Shuttle for
example) are worth a decent amount of money (if I were to sell it).
A little over a year ago we had a flood in our house (washing machine hot
water hose burst, if you don't have steel braided hoses go spend the $20 and
get them ASAP) which caused in excess of $40K in damage to the house and our
property.
Fortunately our insurance company covered everything but we several
discussions regarding the "value" of some of the antique furniture we have.
I can't imagine what a discussion over the value of an Airport Shuttle,
Metroliner, or the like woud go with a claims adjuster.
Thoughts?
