Sorry to reply to my own post, but I figured out the language issue. the
donation link from the lugnet.general page brought me to an English version.
Also, once there, I noticed there is a language drop-down field at the upper
right of the page. Silly me!
In my dim age, I didn’t quite realize the changes behind the scenes and that
Rene and 1000STEINE apparently now run the show here. (Is that true? Not a
problem, I just wasn’t fully aware.)
Anyhoo, my donation has been sent!
...A related note:
I’ve heard many comments in the past few months from AFOLs here, on other sites,
and in person that they don’t like or view Lugnet as much as they used to.
Apparently drama and that sort of thing has a negative impact. And perhaps some
people just prefer being fragmented into special-interest groups (theme sites or
lug forums). While such groups definitely have merit, I personally still love
the format of Lugnet, and the wealth of information that can be found here -
even if only links to other sites sometimes. After all these years, and despite
any bickering that may occur, I still believe the people who post here are
generally intelligent and well spoken (given the tradition here of posting with
proper grammar and such as compared to other internet messaging). And I do
think of many Lugnet posters as friends, even if only remotely. Are there
issues here? Sure. Is it the best site for every AFOL? Probably not. But is
it a valuable site for our community? I believe it is.
If you agree, I say donate as I just did to help keep it around.

| Hi All: All the hubbub about BS got me thinking... It's been a while since I gave anything to Lugnet. On the forums page here there is a PayPal donation button that I've used at least once before to throw the site an extra ten bucks. My plan was/is (...) (17 years ago, 21-Jul-07, to lugnet.general, FTX)
