Maaike,
Well for starters, I have an Unofficial LEGO Sets/Parts History Collectors Guide
available on CD that covers the years 1949-80.
In it you will find old pictures from the 1950's and 1960's of people building
with LEGO, as well as a LEGO Timeline of when items went into production, what
sets and parts were produced, and what years they were produced.
You can download a few free chapters here on my website (or order a copy for
yourself if you so wish).
The LEGO CD has 1,265 pages with over 1,700 pictures and images.
