Thanks guys, you're much too kind. What I do is for the love of the brick.
Scott was the first AFOL that I had ever met, since my internet access started
exactly one year ago this week (on RTL). A great guy.
I strongly believe in the power of the pen. And I am happy that some folks enjoy
my incessant ramblings. Although I would tend to think that it goes better with a
scone, raspberry preserves, and some clotted Devon cream (3 summers at an Oxford
England college has refined my taste a little).
But seriously folks, my fondest childhood memories started in 1960 at age 6 when I
obtained my first LEGO (20 parts packs and basic set 708) from my grandfather and
uncle. This really had a lasting affect on me, not only because I liked to play,
but also because I strongly believe that LEGO subconsciously improves your IQ. I
have always felt that LEGO maniacs have, on average, a higher IQ than other
hobbyists. Paraphrasing a famous British Actress: "I cannot abide people who
think they are better than everyone else. It makes it so much harder for those of
us (LEGO folks) who really are" (heh-heh).

| Speaking of this, I had the pleasure of meeting Gary, and he is like a walking Lego history book, with the original sets to prove it. I want to be just like him when I grow up! :) (You're a great guy, Gary!) Scott Sanburn (...) (25 years ago, 2-Jul-99, to lugnet.build, lugnet.general)
