In fact these are all features of Flickr and not of Brickshelf.  So should I
switch?  The only thing really holding me back is the fact that a lot of people
look to Brickshelf for Lego pictures, not Flickr.  Is that still true?

Many spacers have made the switch.  The one quality that make flickr so much
better to me is the "contact system" - I have a link that directs me to the most
recent photos posted by my friends, most of whom are LEGO guys.  This shows me
their latest creations, without having to sift through the endless blather on
BrickShelf.  I spend all of my time on Flickr looking at LEGO MOCs.

Of course, Flickr is best for showing off a few photos at a time, larger
galleries are a bit more difficult to handle and navigate (which BrickShelf does
handle well).  Currently, I host teaser or in-process pictures on Flickr and
upload the finished gallery to my website, Neutronbot.com.

So, that being said, I highly recommend Flickr as being better than BrickShelf.

For record, my flickr account is here:

For years I, like many AFOL's, have posted my MOC and Lego event pictures to Brickshelf. And I really appreciate Kevin's support of the Lego community through the years, especially back when disk space and network access were a lot more expensive (...) (19 years ago, 29-Dec-05, to lugnet.general)
