I'd like to share something cool that happend.
So I'm just going to write:

I was invited to place a robot at a local club called: l.i.t.m.
(love is the message)

I know them they know me, long story, my friend has been asking, and I've been
offering, so I go and put the new RG Mech up on this ledge right when you walk
in to the place. The robot is up on a 3x4ft. legde above a doorway to the left
as soon as you walk in. I put a red light rope and it lights up, as do the eyes.
They have green LEDs custom made by HiTechnic.com for the application.
I leave the lights on at all times. Since there is no heat. from the LEDs.
So I told them to not worry about that.

As I arrived (BTW) they started asking for 3$ because it was animation night.
Then they saw, I had the RG mech in my hand, Whole, intact. Infact that robot is
so rock solid, I drove with it in my car and it was in the passenger seat the
whole way, bumpy, icy, snowy, Jersey City streets.

The owners were very nice to me, and I felt the time was right to bring the
robot down there, because if you looked all around, there was paintings and
light sculptures on the walls, done by people I knew. So as I said, it was the
right time. That club is busy too! (can get) l.i.t.m. closes at 11:00pm.

I worked out a deal for loan of my robot, glad I don't get charged at the door,
and food and drink are free. I also agreed to bring another Rbot for a similar
ledge in the back.

I did not bring my camera as I had another meeting there about more art stuff.
I didn't think I would have time to take pics, I'll just go next time and check
on it.

Point is an AFoL made something cool, a local establishment liked it and through
community realations displayed said cool Lego creation on aforementioned ledge
with light rope. Oh did I mention you can see it from outside the store window!

now as for the other Art stuff I said, I sat down in the back with a friend and
we worked on some Graphic design. I brought along the Waterbug Hotel mosaic sign
I made.

The sign is x3 Grey 48x48 baseplates.
covered with trans 1x1 round blue bricks
the letters are 1x2 trans neon green/yellowwtf plates

now any Lego fan that has held a trans neon part under a black light, knows how
bright they glow. Or if you haven't, go look on Brickshelf.

The trick is to get the letters to glow from behind, and get the blue 1x1's to
illuminate as well.

So I switched all the 1x1s and 1x2s, the whole design, on to 3 Clear 48x48
baseplates. It took several hours and different people helped along the way.
When the new Tranparent baseplate Water Bug sign was lit from behind with a
black light, all the letters lit up very brightly along with the trans blue
1x1s! The black edging of the sign contains the sign and will be built to
include a full Lego Light box, made from black Technic.

The sign when lit looks so cool, plus the clear baseplates make the building of
an all Lego light box worthy. I mean come on clear 48x48 baseplates!
I will probably make the inside white bricks to dispense the black light as
well.

Then I tried to take pics later, dropping the sign, crashing the light, knocking
stuff over, I'll have to keep you guys hanging on the pics.....
Until later....

ok, time to sort or something,...

did I just blog?
