Hey all,

Seems that writing about Lego dreams only throws more gasoline on the fire
of my Lego dream hearth.  I dreamt I found a bunch more old sets but the
capper was I discovered a UCS A-Wing (which just happened to brimming with
dark red, one of my favorite new colors).  I distinctly recall that it was
in pieces and I was down on my knees fishing chunks of it out from under a
very dusty bottom shelf.

I believe this dream was partially inspired by the sight in the window of my
local consignment shop of a ##775 Fire Fighter boat!!  We were out for night
stroll in the wonderfully brisk and clear Cali evening and I stopped dead in
my tracks!  This was one of those sets I remembered having as a kid but
didn't still have because I really PLAYED with it.  If I still had the
original it would probably be caked with soap scum!  Luckily for me, no one
else in town had the same experience so it was waiting for me this morning
(along with some more used HP sets.  They're great for stockpiling old
grays!).

The only downside was some of the stickers had not been applied that well,
so I may not be able to salvage them.  The life preserver stickers were not
present, and the others that were (particularly the "Fire Fighter" ones on
the sides) were starting peel away because the glue had dried.  Is there a
snowball's chance in heck that I could obtain replacements?

If not, what techniques would y'all recommend to reapply them?  I've managed
to remove them all without damage but they're so old that they left some
glue behind.  I usually wash stickers in warm, soapy water, dry them and
then reapply them.  This seems to work well as long as they haven't dried
out like these have.

Dave (still feeling that warm and fuzzy nostalgic glow)
