Well I've now tried the Dirt Crusher out with a 3000 mAh battery and it
works fine, and lasted for just under 50 minutes!

It turns out the batteries are pretty standard NiMH or NiCD 6 cell 7.2V
packs with the standard Tamiya connector.

You can also get fast chargers that will charger what will charge these
types of batteries in much quicker times that the one that comes in the box.

I've now picked a second Dirt Crusher, time to go racing.

Has anyone tred using a more powerful battery pack in the Dirt Crusher. it • ships
with a 7.2V 1400 mAh unit, but as this is a standard RC pack, you can get • lots
of more powerful ones for not a lot.

I've seen one that holds 3500 mAh.

Has anyone tried using larger capacity packs?

Any reason this shouldn't work?

The none on the battery charging say that the charger Lego ship will cope • with
3000 mAh batteris but only if you charge it twice (ony charges for up to 4 • hours
at a time). Looking at a battery specialists website, it looks like there • are
some fast chargers for these types of batteries.

And as for the Dirt Crusher itself, it is a bit of a monster, it really • tears
around and loves the dirt.
