This is a great question. Put on your thinking caps people! What sets had blue
bases? By 1973 there are a lot of green ones!
I think I had the same stuff: a lot of white 2x8s from then, blue bases, and the
other parts you mention. However, mine came from a garage sale about 1974 (and
included a lot of glued-up red CA 2x4 bricks.)
