  Re: Lando minifig picutre HERE

(...) Thanks for stepping forward to take the slings and arrows. I have witnessed, as everyone else here has, Lego listening to us. We asked for a small stormtrooper pack, releasing old sets, new colors, new train cars and engines, discounts on bulk (...) (22 years ago, 11-Aug-03, to lugnet.starwars, lugnet.general)

  Re: Lando minifig picutre HERE

(...) However, we do have the clear example of (URL) set 215> as skin colour differentiating 'race'; and this set dates back to 1977 - not too long after yellow skin was established.   Re: Lando minifig picutre HERE

(...) I disagree with your assumptions. When LEGO first made any attempt at Lego "people", they had very few colors to choose from. Yellow was probably the best looking one available at the time. Perhaps I'm wrong, but I just don't believe there was (...) (22 years ago, 11-Aug-03, to lugnet.starwars, lugnet.general)

  Re: Arrgh! Forgot Brickshelf password

(...) I got so fed up I just created a new profile and copied the old stuff over. That's why you'll find two members named "Paul Baulch"... :-) Cheers, (URL) Sci-Fi LEGO> (22 years ago, 11-Aug-03, to lugnet.general, lugnet.space, FTX)

  Re: Lando minifig picutre HERE

(...) It's important to understand that the "race-card" was played a long time ago. A bunch of pale danes sat around a room and decided what primary color would work best as a "flesh" tone. They looked at each other and the choice was ethno-centric. (...) (22 years ago, 11-Aug-03, to lugnet.starwars, lugnet.general)

  Re: Lando minifig picutre HERE

(...) Excellent idea (I wish they had done this, in fact), but I don't think the problem really revealed itself until people started begging for a "black" Lando fig. Luke and most of the main characters had already been released by then, so there (...) (22 years ago, 11-Aug-03, to lugnet.starwars, lugnet.general)

  Re: Lando minifig picutre HERE

(...) About three years ago it was revealed that all Minifigs speak Spanish. ("Re: Who's feelin the black pack") (URL) also suggested we have a separate newsgroup just for this issue! (22 years ago, 10-Aug-03, to lugnet.starwars, lugnet.general, FTX)

  Re: Lando minifig picutre HERE

(...) The NBA situation is easy to figure out on the fact that they include not only the first black minifigs, but also the first white ones. If people complained that there weren't any black minifigs in the regular sets, you could finally point to (...) (22 years ago, 10-Aug-03, to lugnet.starwars, lugnet.general, FTX)

  Re: Lando minifig picutre HERE

(...) Brad spoke to this at the BrickFest Q&A session. The NBA minifigures depict actual people. For the most realistic effect, they were made with dark or light skin colors, just like the real people they are modeled after. Generic (yellow) (...)   Re: Lando minifig picutre HERE

(...) make a "black" minifig is precedent setting, and would also mean that every yellow minifig is white, IMO. I was always under the impression that minifigs were colorblind, so to speak. I know this discussion has been had before either in .Space (...) (22 years ago, 10-Aug-03, to lugnet.starwars, lugnet.general, FTX)

  Re: Brickfest 2003 Presentations

(...) I'll second the question and add...will anybody be videotaping their presentations? I know there are webcams available but I simply don't have the time to sit and watch them 60/24. :-) (22 years ago, 8-Aug-03, to lugnet.general, lugnet.technic, lugnet.robotics)

Just wondering how many of the presenters at Brickfest 2003 are planning to put their presentations on their respective web pages, for those of us unable to attend? Max (22 years ago, 8-Aug-03, to lugnet.general, lugnet.technic, lugnet.robotics)
