Why basketball minifigs have no hairpieces

It's weird that even the NBA Basketball minifigs with printed hair do not
have actual hairpieces.
I figure the reason may be that the stud on theit head is helpful when
shooting a ball from the figure using the springloaded hips. Or a hairpiece
may fly off.

| Hello Eric, (...) In my opinion, it is definitely a safety issue. The sudden release of the springloaded hip mechanism could send a hairpiece straight into the throat or the eye of a bystanding (for instance North American) kid and consequently send (...) (22 years ago, 7-Nov-02, to lugnet.general)
