NELUG will be participating in both the Sleigh Bell Festival and the Festival
of Trees in Boston Massachusetts December 6-8 2002.
The main event will be the Sleigh Bell Festival where NELUG will have its
10'x20' train layout set up. This event is open to the public and benefits
several charities including Toys for Tots and The National Kidney Foundation.
As part of the Sleigh Bell Festival the MA, RI, VT, and NH chapter of the
National Kidney Foundation will be hosting a Festival of Trees to benefit
children with kidney disease. NELUG will be sponsoring a tree and decorating
it in a LEGO theme. Trees will then be auctioned off for the charity. This is
very similar to the Festival of Trees event that NGLTC has participated in for
the last couple years in Atlanta GA.
NELUG would like to invite any LUG, LTC, MUG, or other LEGO group that wishes
to help out to send us an ornament. These ornaments will be auctioned off with
the tree and should therefore be seen as a donation to a worthy cause.
Ornaments should follow these simple rules.
1. Ornaments do NOT have to be related to Christmas, we are not all Christians
after all, but they should be festive and keeping with the upbeat nature of the
event.
2. In general ornaments should be no larger than 8x8x8 (universal LEGO
dimensions). Slightly larger in one dimension may be acceptable but the desire
is to keep any one ornament from distracting from the rest or dominating the
tree. (Please make ornaments as lightweight as possible as well).
3. Ornaments can be as easily identifiable with your group as you wish, decals
are OK. If at all possible we will create a chart to identify each group with
their ornament.
4. Multiple ornaments will be accepted but only one should be identifiable
with your group, additional ornaments should be generic in nature.
5. All Ornaments should be outfitted with a string or other mechanism for
hanging it from the tree.
6. Ornaments may be glued if the club wishes but this is not required.
7. All Ornaments will be sent to Eric Kingsley, please contact him at
kingsley@nelug.org for address information.
If your group would like to participate please either respond to this post or
send an E-mail to fot@nelug.org so that we know to be expecting a package
from you.
Thank you,
The New England LEGO Users Group
