I was over at a friend's house today and her little sister had a Lego set with the old white maxifig torso and head which sparked my interest. She then showed me a cut out box panel that they had kept. It revealed the set as #111 - one I estimated (...) (25 years ago, 30-Mar-99, to lugnet.general)

I know that 110 came out in 1977, I believe 111, 112, and 113 also out in that year. Or very close to that. They are all listed in the same catalog in the same pic. Sorry can't narrow it down for you more than that. Tamy Who really needs to get her (...) (25 years ago, 30-Mar-99, to lugnet.general)

I have the 110, 111, 112, 113 and 114 sets (at home), but I think that the 1977 year sounds correct. These were the first Basic Sets that carried arches (3 of the 5 did) in a set that was not a model kit. Gary Istok (...) (25 years ago, 30-Mar-99, to lugnet.general)

(...) Set 20 (the European version of this set) came out in 1976, as it was marked "Neuheit" in the 1976 German Brochure. It does not appear in the 1976 U.S. Brochure, and does (along with also apparently brand-new sets 110, 112, 113, and 114) in (...) (25 years ago, 31-Mar-99, to lugnet.general)

(...) Hmm. Well, just looking at the photo for the box cover for 20, it's obvious that there was a blue cap included in the set as well. That could mean one figure (two head accessories), but that wasn't the norm for TLG (though, both torso (...) (25 years ago, 1-Apr-99, to lugnet.general)
