That idea may or may not work, but its nonetheless important for the BZ
admin to be responsible in references to Brickshelf.

I assure you CAD drawings are not endangered. It was brought up as a
pathetic attempt of turning the tables on me in the discussion I was
participating in.
LDraw is much more central to all of the AFOL community than the avatars.

Yep.
What baffles me is why Brickshelf is so popular (probably because its easy)
versus the images getting hosted on personal (free service) web space.
Another possible solution is a BZ member having free web space and putting
up peoples' avatars in their own folders.
But, Kevin hath spoke. I hopeh his content tagging and filtering features
are soon to be implemented.
Also, there are avatars on Brickshelf that have absolutely nothing to do
with LEGO:
