Let's let this one go now. Eric has posted that he understands why wide
crossposting isn't always ideal.
As a side note, though: The way that community norms get adhered to is by
pointing them out. The way that community norms get changed is by
discussion. Doing your part to keep the community the way you understand it
is intended to be, and to help shape its change and growth does not make you
a "policeman" it makes you a *contributor* to the health and life of the
community.
Amy was not being a "policeman" in first pointing this out, back when, she
was being a valued community member. Fortunately for her, because I spoke up
in support, *I* (since I seem to be a lightning rod for controversy) got
tarred by Eric's brush rather than her in his more recent post, (which he
has subsequently retracted, thanks muchly!) and by the brush of others, some
of whom really ought to tend to their own behaviours first before they
criticise.
