For $25, you absolutely should buy the Guarded Inn if Castle is to your fancy.
Take it apart and use the pieces in your MOC.  Besides the tudor walls, it has
lots of basic bricks and great detail elements (such as yellow shutters, a >blue door, a blue gobblet, and a white gobblet - little things that make such >a difference in a MOC.)

I just opened one yesterday, and your description pretty much sums up my
experience.  Simply a great assortment of parts (for a reasonable price!),
both the detail pieces (eg. goblets) and basic bricks (grey!).

I'm terribly fond of the little set, but it's not, IMO, really worth the
hundreds of dollars that were being paid for 6097.  However, for the price,
you can't go wrong for what it gives you.  Just MO.

6097(Night Lord's Castle) for hundreds of dollars?  Hehe don't worry, I get
6097 and 6067 mixed up all the time too...

Doh!  While we're marginally on the subject, for what's worth, I think that 6097
is also a great set for parts, provided that one buys it on clearance.
