I haven't seen or heard much about the recent Shell promotion -- I
thought that perhaps there was a limited supply of sets from the 1999
promotion that had been found. I opened the small sets today and was
surprised to find a 2001 catalogue sheet with Jack Stone on one side and
Creator, Dinosaurs, video games and www.LEGO.com on the other.
It could be that even though the sets were recently packed, the raw
materials (polybag, box, instructions, stickers, loose parts) were left
over from the 1999 promotion and that production run was finished up.
Yet it seems awfully odd to do this for a handful of sets. Anyone seeing
these sets locally in significant volume?
