DE or DK: Which Legoland to Visit?

I have the opportunity to be in Germany for a week and a half this summer
with an open itinerary. I know (or I think I know) that there's a new
Legoland in Deutschland, but I suspect that the Billund park is still the
Mecca of Legophiles. Should I hop a train and make the trip to Denmark?
I'd like to hear from those who have been to one or both Legolands, or are
otherwise highly opinionated on the subject.

| (...) Hello Paul, Unfortunately, the new LEGOland in Germany will only be opened in the summer of 2002 (at least that is the plan), so that leaves you only the possibility to go the original LEGO land in Billund. Sybrand Bonsma (23 years ago, 6-May-01, to lugnet.general)
