I took my kids to the LEGO Racers event at my local TRU. No one really knew
what was going on; they just had a place set up where a store employee would
race a kid with the racers. I noticed the employees wearing LEGO Racer
buttons, so I asked if I could snag a couple. They were clueless until someone
brought out a large bagful. Evidently they were supposed to have been giving
them away to the kids, but forgot (the event was winding down by this time).
Of course, my kids wanted me to buy them each a racer, but they were $3.99 at
TRU while they are $2.99 everywhere else, so no could do.
The only thing that might be worthwhile would be if you can find any of the LOM
mail-in rebate coupons ($10 off a $30 purchase until April 30). But the TRU
employees on the whole seem pretty clueless about those too.

The coupons were for Alpha Team, and you might be able to talk to a Lego customer service phone person about that as only 1 of 6 TRU stores in my area (Inland Empire area of California) bothered to dig to the bottom of the trash for the (...) (24 years ago, 16-Apr-01, to lugnet.org.us.richlug, lugnet.general)

| I finally made it into the Toys 'R' Us at Regency today to see if there were any sale items left. The blue tubs are back to regular price but the Rock Raiders sets are still on sale. At first I couldn't find much looking in the regular LEGO aisle (...) (24 years ago, 16-Apr-01, to lugnet.org.us.richlug)
