Lego's 1966 US patent for the flexible towbar gives the measurement of the 4x4
plate as 16mm x 16mm x 1mm (7).

(7) US Patent 3,242,610. Flexible Connector for Toy Construction Sets. Mar
29, 1966.
The tow bar is made of nylon, hence it flexibleness.

What kit does this flexible towbar come from?
I had one, but do not have all the old boxes, and instructions from when I was
a kid.  I'd like to get a list of all the kits I had all those years ago.

I have a towbar that came with set #285 Samsonite Gift set.  I'm assuming it
came with the set, however I did recieve it opened but in very nice shape.
I also have an instruction sheet to an unnumbered red Samsonite tanker truck
with grey tires and uses red slopes to give the rounded appearance of the
tank.  Hope this helps.

Also, Does anyone know what kits had the large spoked wheels?

Not off hand, but there are several sets from the 70's that use these.
