<Warning!! This message contains pure speculation on the part of it's authour>

Tripping The Light Fantastic.

'It came from a 'fortunate' encounter with
a prism and it sort of devloped' stated a senior Lego designer today.
Now not only can you build models with Lego(R) bricks but you can build
abstract art as well...'

Optrix is the latest idea from to come from Lego Futura's design team. In
simple terms it is merely a collection of basic bricks in transperent colors.
However if you combine these bricks with the new light bricks provided in
one of the Optrix sets. A lot of thing can happen!

Within a week of buying an Optrix set for review are test team was
enthralled and one of the team stated that they would defintly be buying two
lots of Optrix. One for his kids and one for himself!.

The Lego Group has also announced the the Optrix range will be Extended to
Duplo in the near future. TLG is also looking into the possibilty of
bringing exprienced interior designers on-board to encourage uptake of the
new Optrix Range...

We at Design Weekly hope that Lego will finally be a 'tool' for all and not
just the big 'kids' in us. With Optrix It looks like that dream is begining
to happen.

So, what you're saying (to cad.dev) is you'd like someone to put together a real-time radiosity solution to use semitransparent bricks and multiple light sources? Hmm... might take 2-3 months... Oh wait, it could be done with plastic, like those (...) (23 years ago, 15-Jan-01, to lugnet.general, lugnet.lego.direct, lugnet.cad.dev)
