Secondly it's not a magnetic thing, there's no metal (or magnetinc ceramics even) in ABS so there's no way for the propeller to interact with your monitor's (...) An optical illusion most likely. You can spin it near the monitor but looking next to the screen and it will turn only one direction. Or you can stand back and put the propellor between the monitor and your eyes and it will again turn in 2 (...) (24 years ago, 16-Oct-00, to lugnet.general, lugnet.off-topic.test, lugnet.technic)

That's wierd. If you notice on the higway though car hubcaps do the samething. Hubcabs (or helicopter or airplane props) do that - they spin one way-slow down-reverse-speed up-slow down etc when you see them on TV, because the frame rate of the video camera is "interfering" with the rate of wheel motion; for example, suppose (...)
