My grapevine has told me that a hot-air balloon has been ordered by TLG to
advertise the new Legoland Deutschland. You can expect to see it flying
anytime now (in Germany).

Further details if interested:
It was ordered from Cameron Balloons (UK).
It is a model A300 (conventional shape), but is fairly large for a
balloon...should take at least 12 passengers, if not more.
It has a yellow background colour, with the LEGO logo on one side, wording
"LEGOLAND Deutschland ab 2003* in Gunzburg!" opposite, and 2 minifigs
appearing to break out on the other sides.
(* - this could have been altered to 2002, I'm just not sure)
It was test inflated in Bristol and shipped over to Germany approx 2 weeks
ago.
(For spotters: the Reg is: D-ODLL)
As far as I know, this will NOT be a ride for the park - just an advance
publicity exercise. Maybe there will be an announcement somewhere on
LEGO.com in due course.

Regards,

Phil in Yorkshire.
