I agree, the model is probably priced about right for what it is (although
TLG's cost of bricks is going to be much lower than an AFOL's).

It's completely in line with the #3723 Lego Mini-Figure at $149. Consider
the cost of a 7 foot tall minifig. That's around 75x the volume of 3723,
which puts the cost over $11,000. Of course, we'd all love it if the 3723
and Darth were scaled up from the price of the blue bulk tub -- which would
put them at 1/5th the cost -- but Lego doesn't work that way.
