The statue is certainly not a kit, and will be glued.  I'm guessing that
FAO is selling what were (or were intended to be) store displays.  If it's
the same one that is at LLC, its impressive-looking, but not 10 grand of
impressive looking.

My memory must be jogged, where was the one at LLC?  Wait....was it the one
near the entrance where the kid would stand with the lightsaber next to it?
I never got up close to see that model.

Yah, that's the one.  I've got a pic of it at home, I'll see if I can overcome
lethargy and put it online somewhere.

You'd be surprised how much models like that cost - I've seen a couple
projects done independently by AFOLs and the cost of those alone (and we're
talking basic bricks) is incredible.  $10k sounds about right to me, maybe
even a little bit of a deal ;-)  Remember, you're also paying for design and
labor....

I agree, the model is probably priced about right for what it is (although
TLG's cost of bricks is going to be much lower than an AFOL's).
I just don't think it's *worth* that much.  I mean, given 10 grand to spend on
Lego, I think I'd spend it on clearing the inventory of a few select stores
rather than a single, glued-together statue of a bad guy.   ;)
