| Hi. I found a nice lot of 60's and 70's stuff yesterday at the local Salvation Army, which included some large gears: 2 blue (8-stud diameter), 4 yellow (4-stud), and 4 white (2-stud). There are no axles included in the lot. All of the Samsonite (...) (24 years ago, 24-Jul-00, to lugnet.general)

| (...) This one I can answer - yes. The old style wheels had studs on them, and that's how you used them. That plus 4x4 round turntables. LEGO still makes turntables, but the old ones were completely round, whereas the new ones now have a square (...) (24 years ago, 24-Jul-00, to lugnet.general)

| Allen: (...) The first set with gears was the Samsonite 001 Gears Set from 1966 (although several internet references say 1971).
