I got the new LEGOLAND game last week and have played it a couple of times. I
was looking forward to this release because I liked the concept and have
enjoyed similar games like "Theme Park." I was disappointed by the LEGOLAND
game almost right away...
Maybe (probably) it's just my computer, but moving the mouse around the playing
field is extremely jerky and imprecise (and since you have to click and move a
lot of things....this alone makes trying to play miserable).
Also, your helper keeps telling you exactly what to do...it's not so much a
game as a lesson in following directions. Even so, I was unable to complete
the second level...I needed more landscaping...although I seemed to have placed
all that was available...
All the things that I thought would make this game fun are missing:
There are no micro-controls to set pricing in shops, for instance. All that
you can do is "build," that is, click buildings (you don't even have a choice
in the way in which they're oriented) onto the playing field and send a
mechanic to rides when they break down...
All-in-all, I think this is one of the poorer LEGO Media games. I am not a
gamer but I do see value in some of the titles that LEGO Media has brought out.
For instance, I like LEGO Ceator. I think LEGO Racers is a really fun game
(probably their best so far) and I even played LEGO Island for a few days. I
thought LEGO Loco was pretty weak....but LEGOLAND is worse, I think.
