Hi Jeremiah,

As someone who had to leave her lego on the other side of the Atlantic, let me
give you a few tips:
-Make sure your lego is stored well (as Matthew and Eric noted) and that your
parents/siblings won't wreak havoc and/or sell it.
-Put them in a place where they won't gather much dust, like drawers or seled
containers.
-Take with you (if possible) a few valuable pieces/sets, your favorites (or
maybe just the rarest). Personally, I took all my minifigs and a lot of special
pieces.

Just because you won't have the lego, doesn't mean you have to enter dark
ages... just keep in touch with lugnetters, or jot down inspirations, or even
LDraw your ideas like you suggested! Go figure, maybe there's a local LUG where
you're going? You might meet a lot of new lego fans! Don't be down!

HTH,
-Shiri
