Sorta yes & no...
Yes, you can send e-mail directly to the group by addressing your message
to (for example): lugnet.general@lugnet.com And you can also reply to
individual messages (if you're not receiving the group in digest form).
But if you do receive the group in digest form, don't cut & paste from the
digest body to compose a reply -- that messes up threading. If you receive
a group in digest form, the only time you should address a message to the
group via e-mail is if you want to start a new thread. (Generally, if you're
following along via digest, it means you won't probably want to post often
anyway.)
Thus, the only way to reply to a message you received inside a digest is to
click its URL shown in the message and compose a reply from the website. This
is for purely technical reasons relating to message threading headers.

| Thank you Todd! For example, I can email a new post (such as a WTB...) directly to (lugnet.market@lugnet.com) MOST excellent! Should the appropriate sub-group be included in the address? (24 years ago, 29-Apr-00, to lugnet.general)
