      (...) Originally, yes, I believe so (Dixie is a reference to the Dixon part of the Mason-Dixon Line, IIRC). However, Maryland does not consider itself "Dixie", nor does Virginia, AFAIK.       Well technically the eleven Dixie states were Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas and Virginia.
